Objective :
The Permanent Cosmetic Tattooing Program is designed to provide students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical skills necessary for a successful career in the field of cosmetic tattooing. This 200-clock hour program, approved by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), emphasizes safety, sanitation, infection control, client consultation, color theory, skin anatomy, and proficiency in procedures such as eyeliner, eyebrows, lip pigmentation, and corrective work.
Clinical Minimum Requirements:
The curriculum for PCT/PMU shall include the following minimum performances needs to be performed.

Performances are
not hour-based and are evaluated by successful completion under licensed
instructor supervision.
As per 18VAC41-50-370,
students are required to complete a minimum of 50 performances as part
of the Permanent Cosmetic Tattooing Program. These must include at least the
following:
1. Two complete eyebrows constitute
one performance.
2. Two complete eye liners constitute
one performance; and
3. One complete lip liner constitutes one
performance

Observation and weekly evaluations will be conducted. Students will have the opportunity to work on each other, as well as clients visiting the salon.
