Our Admissions Policy

AVI Career Training accepts students on an availability basis and does not discriminate due to race, color, age, sex, marital status, national origin, or handicap. New cohorts begin the first of each month, making it easy to start your training journey at a time that works for you.

Requirements

Admission Requirements

All applicants must meet the following requirements prior to enrollment. Our admissions team is available to help you gather and verify each item.

Age Requirement

Must be 18 years of age or older — valid government-issued ID required at enrollment.

Education Credential

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent — OR a two-year college transcript.

Student Admission Application

Completed and signed Student Admission Application form.

Signed Enrollment Agreement

Signed Student Enrollment Agreement — a binding contract covering the entire program.

Enrollment Fee

$100.00 non-refundable enrollment fee due at time of application.

Financial Resources

Proof of financial resources to cover tuition (grants, loans, or personal funds).

Social Security Card

Copy of Social Security Card for new student file (required for federal aid eligibility).

2×2 Photo

One 2×2 passport-style photo for the student file and ID badge.

Program Start Dates

New cohorts begin the first Monday of each month. Classes start on a rolling basis — no waiting until a fixed semester date. Enroll when you're ready and begin training the very next available cohort.

Student Records Policy

Students have the right to access their academic files at any time. All records are kept strictly confidential and require written student authorization before any third-party release. Your privacy is protected.

Transfer Students

AVI accepts transfer credits from DPOR-approved and accredited institutions only. Hours must have been earned within 2 years. See Transfer of Credits policy →

Submit Application

Complete the Student Admission Application and Enrollment Agreement. Gather all required documents and submit your $100 non-refundable enrollment fee.

Financial Planning

Meet with our Financial Aid team to explore funding options: Title IV federal aid, GI Bill®, WIOA, payment plans, and other assistance programs.

Start Training

Begin on the first of your selected month! Join your cohort and start your hands-on training in our modern Vienna, VA facility.
