Information for students transferring from other accredited institutions. AVI Career Training accepts transfer credits under specific conditions designed to protect your investment.
AVI Career Training accepts transfer credits from other educational institutions under specific conditions. Transfers are accepted from DPOR-approved and accredited institutions only. Please review all requirements carefully before scheduling your admissions appointment.
The originating school must have been licensed by the appropriate state entity during your enrollment, with the curriculum currently approved by that entity. Unlicensed or formerly-licensed-but-now-closed schools do not qualify.
Hours must have been earned no more than two years prior to enrolling at AVI Career Training. Hours earned more than two years ago are not eligible for transfer credit regardless of the institution's accreditation status.
Your former school must hold accreditation from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting agency. AVI Career Training itself is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE), a recognized national accreditor.
Students are awarded credit only based on official transcripts from the prior institution. Unofficial documents, student copies, or self-reported hours are not accepted. Bring sealed official transcripts to your admissions meeting.
AVI Career Training administers a Board-approved assessment exam prior to awarding any transfer credit. This ensures your skills and knowledge are current and meet the standards required for your program at AVI.
AVI will not exceed the credit hours granted at the originating school and will not award more hours than allowed under the current AVI curriculum. The lesser of the two values applies.
Students wishing to switch from one AVI program to another must withdraw from their initial program and formally enroll in the new program. All outstanding balances must be paid in full before completion documents for the initial program are released.
"The transferability of hours/credit to other institutes is at the discretion of the receiving school." AVI Career Training cannot guarantee that hours earned here will be accepted by another institution. Students who plan to continue their education elsewhere should confirm transfer policies directly with the receiving school before enrolling.
AVI Career Training's transfer credit decisions are final and are made on a case-by-case basis after review of official transcripts and completion of the required assessment exam. Meeting the listed requirements does not automatically guarantee that transfer credit will be awarded.
