By signing this agreement, I acknowledge that I have read this agreement in full, read the catalog, received a copy of the handbook, received a copy of the executed agreement, and that I understand this agreement becomes a legally binding instrument upon the school's acceptance of my application for admission. Failure to comply with school policy, payments and perfect attendance will be the grounds for cancellation or termination by the school. To graduate, all hours of practical and theory work must be completed, a grade average of 70% or higher maintained and tuition and fees paid in full. Finance charge, in the event tuition is paid in installments, is a part to the terms of the agreement, including the refund policies

Any student who wishes to cancel this agreement and to withdraw from classes must contact the Director of Education and Director of Financial Aid for exit interviews. These meetings are required to resolve all academic, financial, and other pertinent business. All students who withdraw are subject to the Refund Policy. Any student who withdraws prior to graduation waives the right of placement assistance and other school services available to graduates. AVI Career Training reserves the right to cancel this contract and dismiss the student from the program (s) if the student does not meet the Standards of Satisfactory Progress, the Attendance Policy, the Student Conduct Policy, or for non-payment of tuition or other costs. Student Initial

AVI Career Training offers placement assistance but cannot in any way guarantee employment after the student has successfully completed the program of study.

NOTICE: Any holder of this Student Agreement Contract is subject to all claims and defenses which the debtor could assert against the seller of goods or services obtained pursuant hereto or with the proceeds hereof. Recovery hereunder by the debtor shall not exceed the amounts paid by the debtor hereunder.
The school reserves the right to make certain changes in program content, equipment, books, faculty, program length scheduled class times, and tuition. Tuition and other cost changes will not affect students currently in training. Student Initial

All students are required to complete their program by their "Enrollment Contract" scheduled completion date. If additional time is needed due to missed clinicals or tests of theory chapter, there will be an additional fee to extend the graduation date. The class missed time can be made on the same week basis with no extra charges but if the students fail to take the initiative to make up the missed class and use the time to get up to date with course work and test taking based on scheduled curriculum then a fee of $28/hour or $896/week will be imposed based on 32 hours a week full time beyond their completion date. Every student must meet the following graduation requirements to receive his/her diploma or degree:
  • . Successful completion of all specified requirements for the Program of Study
  • . Demonstrated competence in skills required for Program of Study
  • . Meet the Standard for Satisfactory Progress, minimum cumulative GPA of 70%
  • . Complete all hours of practical and theory work.

REFUND POLICY

AVI Career Training follows the pro-rata refund policy as published by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia. Details of the refund policy are as follows: Refund Policy for Programs Obligating Students for Periods of 12 Months or Less is as follows: All tuition will be refunded in full, except the $100.00 non-refundable
Registration Fee. (All Programs require a $100 Registration fee that is not refundable.) The student may choose to cancel their enrollment without penalty except for the
$100 application fee for up to three (3) business days after their registration and before the start of their first class.
If a student enrolls and withdraws or is discontinued after submission of the first completed lesson assignment, but prior to the completion of the program, minimum refunds shall be calculated as follows:
  • a. A student that enters the school but withdraws or is terminated during the first quartile (25%) of the program should be entitled to a minimum refund of 75% of the cost of the program.
  • b. A student that enters the school but withdraws or is terminated during the second quartile (more than 25% but less than 50%) of the program should be entitled to a minimum refund of 50% of the cost of the program.
  • c. A student who withdraws or is terminated during the third quartile (more than 50% but less than 75%) of the program should be entitled to a minimum refund of 25% of the cost of the program
  • d. A student who withdraws after completing more than three quartiles (75%) of the program shall not be entitled to a refund.

Expenses incurred by the student for instructional supplies, tools, activities, library, rentals, service charges, deposits, and all other expenses are charged separately. Refunds for Books and Materials and other Expenses: Once received by the student, books and other materials are the property of the student. Once distributed, the school does not accept merchandise returns and makes no refunds for these items.
Refunds, when due, are made without requiring a request from the student. If a student officially withdraws from school, or if a student is officially terminated from the School, that date becomes the Date of Determination. Student Initial

In situations of mitigating circumstances, the school Director may refund more than the amount determined by the refund policy. Granting credit for previous training shall not impact on the refund policy. The nonrefundable application fee, books, supplies, and materials are for each program separately and are not refundable. In the event of legal action to collect any sums due here, the undersigned student shall be responsible for all costs and attorney's fees incurred by the school and jurisdiction will be Fairfax, Virginia. If a student officially withdraws from school, or if a student is officially terminated from the school, that date becomes the Date of Determination. Upon withdrawal, the student's last day of attendance will be ascertained. Student Initial

If a student does not return from a leave of absence and has not provided a written request for an appropriate extension to that leave of absence, the student will be withdrawn from school. The date of determination will be the date the student was expected to return from leave of absence. On the Date of Determination, the student's last day of attendance will be ascertained. If any monies are due to Federal Title IV funds, to the student, or other agency, the money will be returned within 45 days of the student's date of Determination. Student Initial

The student releases and holds harmless the institution, its employees, its agents, and representatives from and against liabilities, damages, and other expenses which may be imposed upon, incurred by, or asserted against it or them by reason of bodily injury or property damage which may be suffered by the student from any cause while enrolled as a student in this institution. GRIEVANCE POLICY

AVI Career Training Students may appeal any negative decisions regarding enrollment, grades, or academic policies according to the following: Students who wish to appeal a grade or an issue that happened in the classroom must first attempt to resolve the issue with their instructor before requesting to meet with the director.
